DEO Dmr inaugurates classroom extension at GMS Darogajan

The classroom extension building of Government Middle School, Darogajan village was inaugurated by Nungshila Shohe, District Education Officer, Dimapur, as chief guest, at a function held this morning in the school premises.
The building was constructed with the fund provided under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The school established in 1956 is one of the oldest government schools in the area.Addressing a gathering of students, teachers, parents and members of school management committee, the chief guest lauded the school management committee of the village for completing the building project within stipulated time and stated that it should be followed by proper management and maintenance, which is a responsibility of school management committee. DEO also called upon the members of the committee to keep check on the teachers and their performance and also not to allow the practice of proxy teachers in the school.
For better performance and functioning of the school, Nungshila was of the view that teachers and members of the management committee should have good co-ordination among them. She urged the teachers to be efficient and to be more practical in their performance output so as to produce better results.
She impressed upon the parents to send their children to school regularly.
She also highlighted various facilities being provided by the department, which the school should make best use of those to impart better education to the children.
Also speaking on the occasion, chairman of school management committee, Vitokhu Achumi thanked the department for providing the fund for classroom extension. He also disclosed that the village had to put in additional fund to complete the construction of the building. He assured the DEO and officials accompanying her that the committee is committed towards overall development of the school. School children presented a song to mark the occasion.
