Dense fog conditions likely to continue in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — Dense fog conditions in the morning hours are likely to continue in Nagaland state over the next two days, according to an update from the Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday.
The update stated that dense fog conditions are also very likely to prevail in the morning hours in other parts of north-eastern states, including Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, until January 20.
Cold day conditions in Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are also expected to last until January 20, and some parts of the North Eastern states received light to moderate rainfall on Thursday, the IMD stated.
As foggy weather continues to prevail in many parts of the country, many flights and trains continue to be cancelled or delayed.
Even at Dimapur airport, sources said their flights to Delhi were delayed by more than two hours on Wednesday. According to several reports, passengers were stuck at Delhi’s airport and railway station after flight and train operations took a hit due to fog.
Earlier this week, Air India posted on their X account that “Air India regrets the disruption to operations arising from the last few days’ dense fog in North India, including at our main Delhi hub, which resulted in some diversions and desynchronisation of aircraft and crew rotations. We are working hard to restore schedules and sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers.”
