Demand for Clarification

A write-up of a concerned individual by name Seketouzo Angami, Kohima was read in Eastern Mirror dated 21-11-2019 in the ‘Readers’ Mirror – Views and Reviews’ column under the heading “Corruption in Nagaland University”. The issue refers to the recruitment process for the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Tenyidie, Nagaland University. The writer had stated, “The interesting thing about this particular advertisement is that several corrigenda were made and even the area of specialisation was inserted unnecessarily to accommodate a particular predetermined candidate. While many senior Ph.D. holders applied, only one candidate was shortlisted and the rest of the applicants were rejected. It is very sad that the highest Institute of Education in the state would resort to this kind of corruption” questioning my academic credibility, personal integrity and trust in the reliability of the people holding concerned responsibility(ies).

As the content amounts to favouritism and manipulation, I seek clarification from the writer Seketouzo Angami, Kohima as well as Nagaland University authority on their respective stand at the earliest through this column.
