Delhi’s Poumai marks 10 yrs of church

The growing concern among the elders of the Poumai community in Delhi for the spiritual well-being of the young ones scattered across different parts of the city, led to the formation of the Poumai Baptist Church in Delhi in the year 2003 with the motto ‘Reach Out’. Today more the 500 Poumai living in Delhi came together and merrily celebrated 10 year of PBCD inception in great reverence and with great music, here at the Parish Hall, Emmanuel Baptist Church Delhi. The Poumai church is celebrating its decennial under the theme ‘Reach Out’.
Speaking during the joyous occasion pastor of Manipur Baptist Church Rev. RL Simon said “Satan calls you when you are lazy but God calls you when you are busy.” ‘Take time out of your busy schedule, get out of your comfort zone and reach out to those who have not been reached,’ the church leader urged the gathering.
Speaking during the sidelines of the celebrations, the pastor of Poumai Baptist Church R Ziisho Pao expressed his joy and deep appreciation at the elders of the Poumai community for initiating the inception of the church. He thanked God for His faithfulness to the church. He went on to say that the church would continue its good work to spread the Gospel and reach out to others.
“We will also continue to pray for peace in the northeast region and peaceful coexistence among various communities in the northeast,” asserted Pastor R Ziisho Pao.
The choirs of Poumai Baptist Church and Ao Baptist Church in Delhi regaled the celebration with their melodies.
Earlier the souvenir of the church’s decennial celebration was released by the executive secretary of the Poumai Naga Baptist Association, Rev H Gideon, who had also served the church as its chaplain. The celebration was also graced by the presence of former pastors of the church.
