Delhi Public School Dimapur holds annual sports meet
Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): After a lull of two years, Delhi Public School, Dimapur observed its 18th annual sports day with much fanfare at the school ground on March 4.
Rajesh Soundararajan, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur was the special guest of the function, and was also attended by S I Jamir, chairman, DiPSS, Dr. Aotoshi, pro vice-chairman, Shilula, board member, DiPSS and parents of the wards, a press release informed.
The programme started with the welcome address by B K Nanda, principal of DPS Dimapur and the march past parade of the four houses namely Dikhu, Milak, Tizu and Zungki.
Besides the inter-house competition in athletic events, inter-house solo singing competition was also conducted.
Soundararajan in his address drew examples from his life and encouraged the students to balance their academics, sports and other co-curricular activities in order to excel in life.
He also gave away the trophies and shields to the winners. Tizu house emerged as the overall champion and also won the best march past. Pulokali Achumi was awarded the best girl athlete, while Kunal Singh Rajput was awarded the best boy athlete.
