Delegation led by Nagaland Chief Minister urges Prime Minister Modi to expedite Naga solution
Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): A delegation of legislators from Nagaland led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with central leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday evening.
Rio was accompanied by Deputy CM Y Patton, United Democratic Alliance Chairperson TR Zeliang and recently elected Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, S Phangnon Konyak.
Sources informed that the delegation highlighted the need to expedite the process of solution to the Indo-Naga political issue during the meeting with the prime minister.
It was informed that the chief minister apprised Modi on the recent consultative meetings with all the stakeholders, civil societies and tribal hohos. He also lauded the PM for taking up development initiatives in the state as well as bold and decisive leadership.
Rio introduced the new MP from Nagaland, Phangnon Konyak to the prime minister during the meeting, sources informed.
He also took to Twitter to inform that the delegation had a fruitful meeting with the PM and thanked him for his constant support for Nagaland and its citizens.
In separate updates, the chief minister also informed that they called on Amit Shah and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences. He thanked them for their constant support to Nagaland.
