Delan Rongpipi crowned Miss Falcon 2023

DIPHU — Delan Rongpipi was crowned Miss Falcon 2023, while Anushka Teronpi finished as the first runner-up at the annual Falcon Festival held at Umrongso. Both winners hail from Karbi Anglong district.

The 9th edition of the annual Falcon Festival, organised by the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, was held from November 30 to December 2 at the Golf Field, Umrongso. There were a total of 12 contestants.

Rongpipi, a resident of Sarihajan, Bokajan, received a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, while Teronpi from Manja received INR 50,000. Teronpi also won the Best Ramp Walk award.

In the Battle of Bands competition held as part of the festival, two bands were declared joint winners: The Redeemer from Diphu and Abstract from Dima Hasao. The first and second runners-up were Mestro and The Lynx, respectively.

Sarsanot Ronghang from The Redeemer won the Best Vocalist award. Other individual awards, Best Guitarist, Best Bassist, and Best Drummer, were bagged by members of the bands Abstract, The Lynx, and Armoured, respectively.
