DEF overall champions of Mokokchung inter-departmental sports tournament

MOKOKCHUNG — The District Executive Force (DEF) Mokokchung emerged as the overall champions of the first Inter-Departmental Sports Tournament 2023, which concluded on Saturday.

The tournament was organised under the aegis of the District Planning and Development Board and the closing function was held at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung. 

The DEF collected a total of 49 points to emerge as the overall champions amongst the 25 participating departments, while the Education department took second position with 39 points.

The Forest department was awarded the best discipline team, and Bendanginla from the Forest department was declared as the player of the tournament.

Special guest of the closing ceremony, Col. Rahul Gurung, CO of 12 Assam Rifles, in his address, expressed gratitude to all departments for their support and commended the organising committee for the success of the tournament.

Divisional Forest Officer, Mokokchung, and member of the organising committee, Sentitula, in her closing remarks, attributed the success of the tournament to active participation from all the departments.
