DEF Mokokchung celebrates Raising Day

DEF Mokokchung celebrated its Raising Day with DIG (Range/NAP), Tuensang, Rajashekera N as the special guest at New Reserve in Mokokchung on February 25.

Along with the celebration, the DIG also inaugurated Inti Salang at New Reserve. The DIG in his address lauded DEF Mokokchung for their quick response and for being the first DEF in the state to prepare PPE suits, face mask and hand sanitiser during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Stating that the core mission of the police is to control crime, the DIG encouraged the rank and files of DEF Mokokchung to be efficient and sincere in every task they are assigned to execute.

He further congratulated the DEF Mokokchung personnel led by the superintendent of police (SP) for efficiently tackling the immigration of people in inter-state crossing during the peak of pandemic and counter-productive results in cybercrimes, which have a serious impact on the society today.

SP, Mokokchung, Vishal also commended his subordinating officers and soldiers for performing duties diligently despite challenges faced during the pandemic.

“When the entire world was reeling in Covid-19 stress, our police personnel did not shy away from performing their duties,” he said.       

He also highlighted that DEF Mokokchung would focus on technology solutions for Nagaland Police, cybercrime awareness and engage with the public directly and exchange information and ideas through the medium of sports in all the six ranges of Mokokchung district.

Besides, DIG also gave awards to the best police station in the district, commendable team and felicitated the award winners.

As per DEF Mokokchung reports 2020, a total of 109 cases registered and arrested 138 persons. A total of 9 persons were convicted, while it seized a total of 2036 cases of IMFL worth INR 1.70 crore and 61 gram of brown sugar worth INR 30500, 708 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon worth INR 7,080.

Earlier in the games and sports session, headquarters Arm Branch won both volleyball and tug of war, while the Family Welfare defeated the women police station personnel in the tug of war.
