Deeper Public Engagement and Consultation concludes
DIMAPUR — The district administration of Kohima organised the culmination programme of Deeper Public Engagement and Consultation (workshops and programmes in colleges) under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) 2023–24 at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, on Thursday.
According to a DIPR report, as part of the initiative, the district administration organised a series of awareness programmes, lectures, and competitions in Kohima College and Sazolie College in collaboration with Zub-Zub India since February 21.
During the culmination programme, Kumar Ramnikant, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, urged the students of both colleges to be agents of change in protecting the environment.
On the occasion, cash awards, along with certificates and consolation prizes, were handed out to the winners of the video reel-making competition. It noted that over 2.3 lakh shares of reels made by students of Kohima College and Sazolie College were recorded on Instagram as measures of awareness and engagement with the public.
Further, to promote and continue awareness activities, bicycles and waste bins were handed over to the NSS of Sazolie College and the Friends with Nature Club of Kohima College.
The report maintained that the programme was a grand success, with outreach to a large audience within and outside Kohima district.
