December sees 1252 rakes unloaded across NFR jurisdiction
DIMA[UR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is experiencing an increase in freight unloading, with 1,252 freight-carrying rakes unloaded in December 2023.
In the official statement, it was reported that between April and December, over ten thousand freight-carrying rakes were unloaded within the jurisdiction of the NFR.
Specifically, in December, 705 rakes of freight-carrying trains were unloaded in Assam, with 399 of them loaded with essential commodities. Additionally, 93 rakes were unloaded in Tripura, 19 in Nagaland, six in Manipur, six in Arunachal Pradesh, and six in Mizoram during the same month.
Furthermore, 211 rakes in West Bengal and 206 rakes in Bihar were unloaded during the month.
It attributed the speedy execution of doubling and electrification works at important sections of the NFR to the increased inward and outward movement of freight traffic.
