Dead body recovered in mysterious condition

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]olice personnel on Monday found a dead body from the jungles below the road connecting Secretariat and Meriema. Sources said the hands of the victim were tied from behind while a noose was found tied around his legs which wound around the neck.
Police sources said that the victim identified as a Tepumecie ‘Meciebo’ Lcho, 38 years of Rachü Khel, in Viswema village under Kohima. He was a resident of Jail Colony of Kohima town. He was reportedly found dead at around 9:20 am this morning. It is suspected that the victim was strangulated and dumped at the said area last night. Police are investigating into the actual cause of death.Rachü Youth Organisation (RYO) of Viswema village has condemned the brutal murder. RYO’s president Meyiekul Noswe said the dead body of Meciebo was recovered by the police on Monday in harsh condition. The hands of the victim were tied from behind while a noose was found tied around his legs which wound around the neck.
Condemning the ‘cowardice act’, the organization has urged the law-enforcing agencies to book and penalize the culprits with befitting punishment.
The RYO also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and solace to them, and rest to the departed soul.
Further, the RYO also expressed gratitude to the personnel of North Police Station and members of Meriema village for their prompt action in recovering the dead body and notifying of the matter.
