DCs of Mokokchung, Zunheboto issue travel advisories

Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): The movement of all kinds of vehicles has been restricted along the along NH-702 at locations Km 0.0 to Km 16.592 between Changtongya and Longleng in view of the massive landslides which occurred on June 26 and the 27th.

Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Poji, in a travel advisory informed that the total restriction is imposed with immediate effect. Clearance of the debris is likely to take around four to five days, starting from June 27.

Travelers have been advised to take the alternative route Longleng – Chingtok (IR Camp) – Netnyu, Merangkong, during the stated period.

In another advisory, Deputy Commission, Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanuda Mali, has informed that the stretch of road from Zunheboto town to Satakha town along the Zunheboto – Chakabama two-lane road shall remain closed for all forms of traffic movements till further order. The restriction has been imposed to facilitate the early clearance of debris and as a precautionary measure to prevent any injury and loss of life, due to the massive landslide between Zunheboto town and Satakha.
