DIMAPUR — District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mon, organised a sensitisation programme for the member secretaries of village level child welfare and protection committee (VLCWPC) at Mon town council hall on Friday.
The objective of the sensitisation programme was to create awareness among the rural people so that the children become beneficiaries of the various schemes available for the development and child protection mechanism and that every child is not denied of the rights entitled to them. It was also organised to emphasise the role of such committees in creating awareness about child development and child safety at village level.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The participants were Anganwadi workers and helpers, who were designated as member secretaries of village level child welfare and protection committee, stated an update from DCPU Mon.
The programme was chaired by Ngepkhao, coordinator of Child Helpline, while the welcome address was delivered by Sevehu Chuzho, DCPO, Mon, and Wanloi Konyak, LCPO Mon, was the resource person.
The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Alem Konyak, PO(IC) DCPU, Mon.
