DCCI unhappy at fruit scam tarnishing ‘good image’ of Dimapur’s business lot

Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) has strongly condemned the ‘multi crore’ racket busted by Dimapur police in connection with the artificial ripening of fruits with calcium carbide (CaC2) from New Market area in Dimapur.
A joint statement issued by DCCI President Akashe Zhimomi and Convener of public grievance cell Omega Yepthomi stated that ‘This racket has tarnished the good image of the business community in Dimapur.’
The DCCI has appealed to traders to desist from ‘such practices and work towards providing a consumer-friendly business environment.’
The organization has commended the efforts of the commissioner of police of Dimapur in busting the racket.
