Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Despite a standing order on standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the district administration on August 1 for all the shops to compulsorily wear face mask, face shield, hand sanitiser and proper physical distancing, the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has found non compliance to the order by majority of business community.

DCCI was surprised to find that many shops and shopkeepers were not wearing face masks during a surprise checking, which was carried out along with law enforcing agencies thereby endangering the public health.
A DCCI statement has warned the business community that it would not allow to jeopardise the functioning of entire business community, which has been affected throughout the year due to callousness of few shops and shopkeepers,

DCCI has directed the business community to strictly comply with the district administration order by wearing face mask, face shield, keep hand sanitisers, and maintain proper physical distancing in the shop.

It warned that any shop or shop keepers defying the order would be strictly dealt with to the extent of sealing the shop as the situation has become a matter of grave concern.

DCCI has further sought the public corporation and requested the shoppers to report non compliance by shop/ shopkeepers to the DCCI grievances cell, police and administration and also desist from buying from shops not complying with SOP for their own safety and to check the spread of Covid-19 infection.
