DIMAPUR — The Kohima district administration, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), organised a launching programme for the second batch of the Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) course under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.

The event took place at the DC conference hall on Wednesday, according to a DIPR report.

EAC (Dev) Kohima, Moasunep K Jingru, speaking on the occasion, acknowledged the support of DHEW and the Pioneer Institute in organising the course for the students. He emphasised the importance of acquiring hands-on skills in computing to keep pace with advanced technologies.

He added that the programme was part of a campaign aimed at empowering women and reminded those with the opportunity to take the course seriously. He also encouraged the students to enhance their skills through this course and become assets to the public.

Kiviboto Shequi, managing director of Pioneer Institute, while highlighting the course, said that DCA is one of the most important courses to get employed in any government or private organisation.

He explained that at the Pioneer Institute, students are equipped with essential skills, such as proficiency in the Microsoft Office package, supplemented by training in Photoshop and other fundamental basics.
