Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, received Oneninenla Imsong, a lone lady rider, on her arrival in Wokha on July 2. Oneninenla Imsong has been riding across Nagaland to advocate on the issues of women empowerment.
Imsong, while speaking, said her passion for riding the motorcycle was to encourage the girls and womenfolk to make them stand on their own feet. She expressed desire to cover all the districts of the State. She has covered 600 kms.
She shared her experiences while covering some of the districts like Kiphire, Tuensang, Mokokchung.
DC Wokha has appreciated Imsong on her bold step in taking the task of riding a bike to empower women. He further wished her success in her endeavour by presenting a cap designed under ‘Beti Pachao, Beti Padao.’
Representative of Lothe Eloe encouraged Imsong on her bold initiatives and termed her as a role model for young girls.
