DC Wokha urges ward chairmen to form core group

Dimapur, May 19 (EMN): In the interest of public safety and as a precautionary measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, the deputy commissioner and chairman of district task force for Covid-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, has informed all the ward chairmen in Wokha town to form a core group in their respective wards to attend to urgent essential matters.

According to the DC, the core group would assist the healthcare workers to ensure that a person in self-isolation/ quarantine comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP). It stated that any person found violating the SOP should report to Wokha Covid-19 helpline number at 9863663885 adding the same number could be used for any other Covid related issues, a DIPR report stated.

The core group would also advise its residents against non-essential movements and non-compliance of Covid appropriate behaviour and also make arrangements to ensure availability of essential commodities in the locality itself in order to restrict movements and crowding at market places.

It also stated that the core group would create an atmosphere where concern, fears and tension experienced by the residents are resolved in a responsible manner or brought to the notice of the concerned authority for proper redressal.

The core group would further check the returnees from other states to go for mandatory screening under Wokha district and to ensure that the returnees follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and strictly adhere to the guidelines/ SOP for returnees.
