DC Wokha restricts inter-district movement

Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): The deputy commissioner (DC) and chairman of district task force, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, has issued an order restricting inter-district movement throughout Wokha district starting from August 8 till further notice.

The DC stated that it was issued in the interest of public health and safety and to contain the spread of Covid-19 in exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act 1897, a DIPR report stated on Friday.

The report stated that all inter-district movement of vehicle would remain closed except for movement of essential commodities, security forces, emergency medical services and person/ departments on bonafide government duty.

It also stated that vehicles carrying essential commodities should be thoroughly frisked at all the inter-state and inter-district check gates and the police personnel manning the check gates are to ensure that only the driver/ handyman with valid permit and ID card are allowed entry into the district.

The order further stated that all returnees bound for Wokha, whether from outside Nagaland or from other district of Nagaland, should compulsorily report at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Wokha, a common reception point for screening and registration by the medical team.
