DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chairman, Vineet Kumar, has issued a public advisory regarding the rising water level at Doyang Reservoir.

Continuous heavy rainfall in the region has significantly increased inflow into the reservoir, bringing it close to full capacity, and if the present trend of inflow continues, “the radial gates of Doyang Dam will be opened to release the excess water in a controlled manner,” the DC said in a public advisory issued on Thursday.

Stating that this will result in heightened water flow in the Doyang River downstream of the Doyang Power House, he advised the public to avoid all activities including bathing, swimming, fishing, camping, on the riverside in the downstream area.
