DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, on Friday laid the foundation stone for the first mini tea factory at Tchu-Nli in Niroyo village.
The programme was organised for the Wokha District Small Tea Grower’s Association (WDSTGA) under the guidance of Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, stated a DIR report.
In his address, the DC conveyed his best wishes to the WDSTGA for the new factory and encouraged all small tea growers to utilise the services provided by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, for their various requirements.
The initiative, supported by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, was focused on empowering tea growers by providing skill training on tea packaging in collaboration with Tea Board of Golaghat office, Assam. It would also extend support in marketing and branding of tea from Wokha.
