Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Deputy Commissoner Kiphire Mohammed Ali Shihab has recommended to the District Planning Development Board (DPDB) members to use ‘aspiration district’ in place of ‘backward district’ for Kiphire district as it has the desire to develop and rise up above all ‘forward’ districts.
DC who is also the vice chairman of DPDB suggested this during the monthly board meeting held Feb. 6.
The chairman also informed the members about the deputy commissioner’s appointment as the district magistrate on convergence, integration and focused attention to backward district.
With the announcement of Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, 2018, the vice chairman impressed on the members that it is the collective responsibility of all the members to exercise their duties sincerely and impartially for successful and peaceful conduct of the election.
Members were also reminded to attend various election training, and be well versed with the changing rules and new instructions of the Election Commission.
Urging members to avail assistance as and when required, the chairman apprised of the high security measures that has been set up in the district under SP Kiphire.
District specific studies on Land Resource Development department for the period 2014-15, and 2016-17 were also discussed.
The department of Evaluation was assigned to conduct the study on the same as requested by the Land Resource Development department. Executive engineer R & B, executive engineer PHED and Power department were asked to maintain pliable roads and provide sufficient water and power supply to all the polling stations.
