DIMAPUR — The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Phek for February was held on Wednesday at the DPDB conference hall. It was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Phek, Kuko Mero.

According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, the DC informed the house that the agenda discussed at the previous DPDB meeting had been verified and forwarded to the government for consideration, and requested that the Medical department establish a proper morgue with proper equipment at Phek District Hospital for postmortem.

He urged the heads of district offices to make sincere efforts in their assigned roles and emphasised the importance of attending DPDB meetings. He also mentioned that a strict attendance procedure would be implemented for these meetings and that the training for booth level officers (BLOs) for the Lok Sabha election would be held next month.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Phek, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, requested that the heads of offices submit a list of employees from all departments for the parliamentary election, citing that some officers’ and staff names were missing. He also asked them to double-check and make any necessary corrections.

He notified the members of the house about complaints regarding absenteeism from the office without leave and informed them about the attachment of EAC probationary to the departments in the coming days.

During the meeting, Chothazo Neinu, Assistant Professor in the Economics department at Pfutsero Government College, provided a brief profile of the college through a PowerPoint presentation and Dr. T Tiakaba Jamir, the Principal of Phek Government College, highlighted its problems and grievances.

The Superintendent of Police, Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, highlighted the department’s profile through a virtual PowerPoint presentation and the General Manager of the District Industries Centre, Chozuba, Cholzo Sophie, provided a brief overview of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana for local artisans.

The departments of Art and Culture and Labour and Employment have been assigned to present departmental activities at the next DPDB meeting.
