DC Peren orders closure of gun shops

DIMAPUR — In order to maintain ideal situation for conducting peaceful, free and fair election in the district, the deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer (DEO) of Peren, Vineet Kumar, has ordered closure of all gun houses under Peren district with immediate effect.

The DC informed that any shop owner failing to comply with the order would be liable for prosecution under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code along with cancellation of trade.

Meanwhile, the DC informed all concerned that the second randomisation of polling personnel for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024 would be conducted on April 6 at 12 noon in the presence of expenditure observer, district election officer and assistant returning officers in the office chamber of ADC, Peren.

In a separate notice, the DC informed that no political party or candidate or any other organisation or person should publish any advertisement in the print media on the poll day and one day prior to polling day, unless the contents of political advertisements are pre-certified by them from the MCMC committee at the state/district level.
