DC Peren issues new guidelines

Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has issued an order reiterating the public to maintain the guidelines and standard operation protocols (SOP) in order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus till further notice.

In an order, Aier stated that the prevailing guidelines and SOP with regard to Covid-19 would continue to remain operational until further notice.

The DC urged the public to strictly maintain social distancing norms and compulsorily wear face mask in all public places in the district. He also stated that all educational institutions should continue to remain closed with the exception for normal administrative works or for online classes.
In regard to funeral/ last rites related gatherings, the DC informed that all the concerned, with a maximum of 20 persons, should maintain social distancing after obtaining prior permission from the respective administrative officer.

On marriage related gatherings, the DC has also urged to ensure maintaining social distancing and other protocols after obtaining prior permission from the respective administrative officer. It stated that the gathering should not exceed more 50 persons.

The DC also informed that religious places of worship within the containment zones would remain closed. He further stated that only those outside the containment zones would be allowed to open subjected to strict adherence on social distancing norms, wearing of face mask and following all the SOP as issued by the government with regard to religious institutions.

The DC also informed that shops within the jurisdiction of town council should be regulated as per the decision of the concerned administrator and according to the state government’s existing protocols. He added that stand-alone shops and outlets outside the purview of the town councils would be permitted to open as per normal hours.

Shop owners are directed to provide hand sanitisers at their respective outlets and denied the facilities to those who do not follow social distancing norms and those without face mask.

The DC also stated that spitting and the sale/consumption of tobacco and tobacco products in public places would continue to be strictly prohibited.
While affirming on the restriction of gathering of more than five people, the DC further stated that any form of unauthorised travel including inter-district, inter-state would remain banned till further notice.

In this regard, the DC Peren has directed all the administrative officers to set up an “Enforcement Committee” to ensure that the guidelines are strictly followed. He further warned that pecuniary penalties/fines would be imposed against wilful violators under relevant sections of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Containment areas lifted

Following recommendations from the chief medical officer (CMO), Peren, the deputy commissioner, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has ordered lifting of containment restriction at Dobashi colony (Ward 1) in Jalukie town, Ward 5 at Tening town and Mhaikam village with immediate effect.

In addition, the DC has directed the sub-divisional task force to ensure that the contained zones are opened up immediately and to initiate an intensive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities with regard to Covid-19 within their respective jurisdiction.
