Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): As resolved at the recent meeting of the Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) and Dimapur-based civil society organisations, “Civil Society Organisations Core Committee against shifting of Deputy Commissioner’s Office Dimapur” was formed on Friday.

An update from the newly formed core committee informed that it had resolved at its meeting on Saturday to hold a mass rally from Clock Tower junction to DC office on October 5 from 9 am onwards, if it doesn’t receive positive response from the state government.

The committee also asked the citizens of Dimapur district to assemble at the venue and take part in the rally.

The update went on to inform that the core committee had “unanimously decided to object the publication” on Sep. 29; demanded the government to reconsider the Home department’s earlier order; and reaffirm its ultimatum submitted to the chief minister.

Dimapur-based civil society organisations had earlier called for “total shutter down” of business establishments in Dimapur on Sep. 30 to show resentment over the government’s recent order for ‘shifting of branches/cells to new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Chümoukedima’.
