Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Noklak, Hiazu Meru, inaugurated an OPD centre at sub-centre in High School ‘B’ Sector of Noklak town on August 18.
Speaking on the occasion, Meru informed that the sub-centre would be used as an OPD centre for citizens of Noklak and expressed hope that the OPD centre would serve the people in a better way, stated a DIPR report on Wednesday.
The DC mentioned that the district task force on Covid-19 decided to start an OPD centre at High School B’ Sector during its meeting. He stated that the arrangement was necessitated as the patients were reluctant to get treatment from the community health centre (CHC) in Noklak after it was designated as Covid-19 hospital.
The DC expressed his appreciation to the senior medical officer, Dr. Victor NC, and the staff of CHC Noklak for their willingness to serve in the new OPD centre. He further requested all the medical staff, especially the nurses to serve the public with sincerity.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Victor NC, while a short speech was delivered by Pushong, GB of Noklak town. The OPD centre was dedicated by A Penglang, pastor of Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak town.
