DIMAPUR — DC Niuland, Sara S Jamir, has instructed all relevant villages and landowners to abstain from encroachment, land filling, and the construction of any new structures, whether temporary or permanent, within the right of way (ROW).
In an order, the DC reiterated for the information and strict compliance of all villages and the general public under Niuland district, settled along the stretch of the proposed two-lane road from Showuba to Ghotovi villages (Showuba connecting Guzunyu—Pughoboto—Noklak—Pangsha), that the ROW dimension is 18 metres in built-up/habitat areas and 24 metres in uninhabited/unsettled areas from the centre point on both sides of the existing road.
“No form of compensation shall be paid for any new structures within the ROW,” she said, with effect from an earlier order dated May 31, 2023.
The DC directed all concerned village councils to strictly enforce the same within their respective village jurisdictions.
