Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Angau I Thou and her entourage, who visited Tobu area on May 22 and 23, has inaugurated a Guest House at Shinnyu village constructed under the Rural Development projects 2013-14 and GPS (B) building at Yongkhao village respectively.
In her inaugural speech, the DC emphasized on quality education of the students in the primary level and said, “The future belongs to the youth and without imparting quality education to the students, our future will be doom in this fast changing competitive world.” She appealed to all concerned to give a consolidate effort to impart quality education and change the scenario of the villages.She also lauded the village functionaries and the concerned department for the timely completion of the Guest House at Shinnyu under RD department and construction of GPS (B) building at Yongkhao village. Commenting that development has reached the door steps of the people, she said it was made possible as the society was free from corruption.
Admiring the unique picturesque rich green forest of natural vegetation, she urged upon the people to adopt a strong resolution for conservation of forest and encouraged eco-tourism in the area. Informing that people are blessed with beautiful land, she urged them to utilize the gift of the nature righteously for the community development.
The Deputy Commissioner also distributed relief under natural calamity to Shamnyu village, inaugurated GPS building and held public meeting at Yongkhao and also interacted with the village functionaries at Tamkoang on her way back to Mon from Shinnyu.
Interacting with the people, the DC informed various projects taken up by the administration under 13 Finance Commission. She also lauded the administration of Tobu for taking the initiative for renovation of the road from Tobu to Shinnyu with contribution of fund from the villages.
Shinnyu village is situated adjacent to Chanhoang International Trade Centre in a remote corner under Monyakshu Sub-Division bordering to Myanmar and Tuensang district in the north eastern parts of Mon district. The village was recognized in the year 2001 by the State government. However, due to lack of proper road connectivity, Shinnyu village remained cut off from the rest of the world for the last many years. With the construction of new road there is a visible sign of progress in this far-flung village.
Angau I Thou is the first DC of Mon to visit this remotest village of the district.
