DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, has issued a travel advisory to ensure smooth execution of the ongoing Mon-Tizit road maintenance work.

The district administration has restricted all types of vehicles, including private and public transportation, from using the stretch of road from Longwa junction to private station traffic point from 6 pm to 6 am, for a period of one week, that is, from November 3 to the 9th.

Parking of vehicles along the stretch of road, where the maintenance work is ongoing, is strictly prohibited, read the notification. It also directed the residents and shop owners along the stretch of road to remove any hindrances such as water pipes, stone boulders, temporary sheds, construction materials, etc. that may obstruct the ongoing project, along the right of way (ROW) by November 4.

‘The ward authorities (GBs and Ward Chairman) of Thamnan, Jahjon, Chingai and Santham are requested to assist the district administration, police and the line department of Mon in monitoring the implementation of this order,’ it added.

It went on to request the public and vehicle owners to co-operate and adhere to the order of the district administration for timely completion of the project.
