Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, gave away learning resource equipment (LRE) to government higher secondary schools of Aboi, Tizit, Naginimora and Mon town in a virtual programme held on May 9.

Each school was given five Lenovo desktops with UPS, one HP Laptop, one Epson projector with screen and one Ahuja speaker for the setting up of digital labs to enhance student learning, a DIPR report stated.

It stated that the schools were selected under the digital equaliser programme of the American India Foundation (AIF). The programme focuses on bridging the educational and digital divide by bringing technology to under-resourced schools across India. The LREs were sponsored by AIF.

It added that AIF would provide training to school teachers in technology use as well as project-based learning methods. The teachers would be trained in interactive and dynamic teaching methods to replace rote learning.

The AIF director of digital equaliser, Sanyukta Chaturvedi, apprised the members about the programme and roadmap for its activities in Mon.

Speaking at the event, DC Mon, conveyed gratitude to AIF for the assistance and solicited continued support in the educational space in Mon district. He further sought concerted efforts from all stakeholders.
