Mon DC fetes two Konyak artisans

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, felicitated two artisans from Longwa village - Hongkap Konyak and Jeilei Konyak.

During the felicitation programme held on September 22, the DC, who is also the chairperson of the District Skill Committee, honoured the two artisans saying that they exemplify the values of hard work and dedication, a DIPR report stated.

The two artisans also proudly serve as custodians of invaluable traditional wisdom and expertise, Verma said.

Hongkap and Jeilei were among the select few from Nagaland to engage with the Prime Minister in New Delhi during the inauguration of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana.

The scheme is dedicated to acknowledging, supporting and assisting artisans and craftspeople committed to traditional trades, using handcrafted techniques and tools.
