DC Mokokchung notifies on lockdown measures

Mokokchung, June 18 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir, on Friday ordered that the existing lockdown guidelines issued on June 11 would remain in force in the district from June 19 to the 30th.

In another order, the odd-even system for vehicular movement has also been extended from June 19 to the 30th. It added that the intra-district vehicular movement entering Mokokchung municipal area and vehicular movement within Mokokchung municipal area should follow the odd-even system.

The exempted vehicles included inter-state vehicles carrying essential commodities and goods; inter-state vehicles movement of essential nature and travelling with a valid permit; government vehicles/ private vehicles engaged in essential service/ Covid-19 duty/ medical emergency.

Under the odd-even system vehicles with registration number ending in odd number would be permitted to ply on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while vehicles with registration number ending in even number would ply on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner has also issued guidelines for the opening of shops and business establishments in Mokokchung from June 19 to the 30th.

According to the guidelines, shops and services that are allowed to open from Monday-Saturday included milk and potable water carriers, vegetable and fruit stalls, LPG and fuel station, tyre repairing, telecom and recharge outlets, print/ media, bookstalls, bakeries, coffins and flower shop, food and medicine agencies, meat and fish (fresh & dry), and agri and allied.

Pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and other health clinics are allowed to open 24/7 on all days.

Another category of shops and services that are allowed to open are grocery, utensils, paan shops, betel nuts leave (Monday and Thursday), hardware, electrical, electronics and repairing, stationery and variety stores, photo and photocopy points, steel fabrications (Tuesday and Friday),  garment and tailoring, cosmetics, furniture, motor parts and workshops, marble engraving (Wednesday and Saturday).

Salons, parlours, restaurant, hawkers, tea vendors and shops selling sports items are not permitted to open on all days. However, restaurants would be permitted to cater through home delivery services. Food delivery, groceries delivery and other e-commerce services providers are also allowed, the order stated.
