DC Mokokchung launches relief for daily wage earners

Mokokchung, June 15 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir,  launched the distribution of relief packages for daily wage earners and labourers affected by the lockdown in the district at Mokokchung Town Hall on Friday.

According to officials, a total of 2000 households have been listed as beneficiaries in the district. An official from DDMA Mokokchung informed that identification of beneficiaries and distribution process are being initiated by concerned ward authorities/ village councils along with administration officials in various sub-divisions and Mokokchung headquarters.

Ward authorities under Mokokchung town have informed that distribution of food packages would start from June 19.

The relief package included rice, dal, chana (chickpea), mustard oil, sugar, salt, tea, bathing soap, washing soap, masala packet, onion, garlic and chilli powder.

The relief items were arranged and provided by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mokokchung, while volunteers from Mokokchung Town Ao Baptist Arogo (MTABA) youth department assisted in packaging of the relief items.
