DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima B Henok Buchem, in an office memorandum relating to the invitation of Padma awardees to official functions, reiterated that Padma Awards are conferred to recognise distinguished and remarkable service toward the nation.


“The lifetime achievement and contribution of the Padma awardees motivates others and impacts people's lives. It is thus imperative to recognise and honour the exemplary works done by the Padma awardees in the public arena,” the memorandum stated.

“Therefore, it is requested that concerted steps may be taken to invite the Padma awardees residing in Kohima as guest of honour at various official functions organised by the government.”


According to a DIPR report, the list of Padma awardees for the last 10 years with respect to Nagaland are Tokheho H Sema, Piyongtemjen Jamir, Moa Subong (moasubong@gmail.com), SC Jamir (bendangtoshi@gmail.com), NeihunuoSorhie (neihunuo1963@gmail.com), Sano Vamuzo, Lentina Ao Thakkar (natwarb@gmail.com), T Senka Ao (tsenkaao@gmail.com), L Hangthing (hangthing45@gmail.com).
