DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, has issued a public notice declaring that the ongoing tunnel construction zone in the Kohima bypass-2 lane road project is an active subsidence zone.
An active subsidence zone refers to an area where the ground is undergoing gradual sinking or caving in, and it requires careful evaluation and precautions to ensure safety.
The DC informed that soil investigation and geotechnical analysis is underway by a safety auditor.
He advised the public to exercise caution and refrain from undertaking any construction activity in and around the tunnel construction zone till soil/geological safety assessment report is finalised by the safety auditor.
