DC Kohima issue travel advisory on NH-29

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has informed that landslides on NH-29 (Kohima-Dimapur road), caused by incessant rain, have affected vehicular traffic along the highway.

In a travel advisory, the DC said that the highway stretches at Dzuchie, Dzudza (GREF Temple) and Kezanu, Jotsoma (old KMC dumping site) are the worst affected.

“Removal of debris and road repair work is underway. Public is being advised to exercise caution travelling through this route till completion of road restoration work,” the advisory read.

In a separate traffic advisory, the DC notified that road repair and maintenance work at Box Cutting Road, Kohima, is scheduled from August 10 to the 14th, and vehicular traffic restrictions will be imposed during the repair and maintenance work.

There will be total road closure for all vehicular traffic on August 10 and the 11th. From August 12 to the 14th, there will be partial road opening for downward vehicular traffic.

The advisory suggested alternative route via Ladies Mile Road and NHAK-TCP Gate during the road closure period.
