Speaking at the meeting, Y Akito Sema, executive engineer of Dimapur electrical division, highlighted the objectives of 'Revamped distribution sector scheme of government of India,' the scope, parts of the scheme and how the public could benefit from installing smart prepaid meters.

It stated that DUCCF president, Zasivikho Zakiesato, shared the grievances faced by the public, especially the BPL section due to erratic power in Dimapur.

He also highlighted the problems the public would face if pre-paid meters are installed. Besides, he has cited the example of Assam, where the pre-paid system was opposed by the consumers.

The report stated that the members have decided to hold more consultative meetings for positive outcomes.
