Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome has directed all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to take up the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the electoral roll with utmost sincerity and diligence by strictly following the ECI guidelines and orders issued by Election department from time to time.
He warned that strict action will be initiated against any defaulting BLO as per relevant rules and provision of the Representation of People’s Act. He also stated that inclusion of new voters without following due process or at random would be viewed as major insincerity.
Stating the E-roll revision is a primary exercise to remove bogus and ineligible voters from the electoral roll, he said no such names should be allowed to be registered in the first place and should be deleted upon detection without fail.
He has also requested the village councils, GBs and ward authorities to coordinate with the BLOs in order to ensure a healthy and clean electoral roll.
He further informed that filing of claims and objection should be done from October 3 to 31.
