DC Dimapur issues traffic regulation

Dimapur, Jan. 9 (EMN): In pursuance to the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, ruling regarding directives for blockage of traffic movement at Pagala Pahar area and in order to facilitate the progress of the four-lane construction works and in the interest of public safety, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soudararajan, has issued an order about total restriction of all movement from Chathe River bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Khuokhi River bridge (Kukidolong).

Through an order, the DC stated that the movement restriction would come into effect from 7 am on January 9 till 5 am on January 11; from 7 am on January 16 till 5 am on January 18; from 7 am on January 23 till 5 am on January 25; from 7 am on January 30 till 5 am on February 1; from 7 am on February 6 till 5 am on February 8; and from 7 am on February 13 till 5 am on February 15.

The restriction has been necessitated to facilitate speedy completion of works and as a precautionary measure to prevent any injury, loss of life and damage to property, the order stated.

Therefore, public are directed take an alternative route from Dimapur-Kohima/ Kohima- Dimapur only via 7th Mile – New DC office – Shokhuvi – Razaphe – Mhaikam – Pimla – Mhainamtsi – Jharnapani/ Medziphema and vice versa.
