Dimapur, Dec. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has notified that in view of detection of one dengue positive case in Dimapur, citizens have been requested to keep water-filled vessels and tanks tightly covered , empty and dry the coolers, flower pots and saucers once a week.
An update on Wednesday urged citizens to wear clothes, which cover the complete body, ensure the pregnant women and children sleep under mosquito net during day time preferably insecticide treated net and immediately consult a doctor in case of high fever.
It further instructed to clear any stagnant water body and keep every household free of mosquito breeding places. The public has also been urged to look out for common dengue symptoms like severe headache and high fever, pain in muscles and joints, pain in rear position of the eye, nausea and vomiting , bleeding through nose and gums in serious cases, measles like rash over chest and upper limbs.
Further, it is also informed that only Elisa positive test will be confirmed as dengue positive. It stated that confirmation test can be done at DHD (Civil Hospital).
