DC Dimapur discusses flooding, potholes problems

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol conducted a meeting with the administrator of DMC; executive engineer of PWD (R&B); Urban Development officer, Dimapur; and SDO, PWD (NH) to discuss about flooding and potholes problems in Dimapur on Monday.

According to a DIPR report, the DC reminded the official from National Highway to ensure free flow of traffic on two lanes while constructing the four-lane highway and make necessary precautions for the safety of citizens.

According to the SDO (NH), the ‘completed side of the road’ up to Aoyimti will be opened for traffic by September 21 or 22.

“Deliberating on the water-logging problems, administrator of DMC informed that a task force has been constituted to clear all the drainages under its jurisdiction which will be done on priority basis after identifying the vulnerable areas.

“Construction of drainage at Kyong colony was also discussed and the same was entrusted to EE (R&B) and urban development officer. For Purana Bazaar Bridge, according to urban development officer, 75% of the works has been completed, while EE (R&B) said that about 65% of the construction works of Nagarjan Bridge has completed,” read the report.
