Nagaland: DC Dimapur convenes meeting for upcoming cross country championships

Dimapur, March 21 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan convened a meeting on Monday to discuss and deliberate on the preparations for the upcoming South Asian Cross Country Championship and 56th National Cross Country Championship to be held at Kohima on March 26.

In this regard, the DC convened a meeting of the reception committee in the conference hall of Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre.

He informed that the main task of the reception Committee would be to receive the participants, VVIPs, and officials and connect them through their respective liaison officers who will be coming from Kohima. He also informed that participants including international athletes and coaches, media personnel, VVIPs, and domestic coaches would start arriving from March 23.

Dimapur Airport and Dimapur Railway station, which are the arrival points of the participants, would be manned by different teams to facilitate the participants and guests, it said.

The team at the Railway station will function 24×7 on rotation basis, the time slots of which will be notified at the earliest to the concerned officers, an update from DPRO Dimapur informed.

It said that the first aid team with ambulances would be put in place at both the arrival points and in case of emergency situation, the participants can be taken to District Hospital Dimapur or CIHSR.

The DC also said that a control room would be set up at the Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, for monitoring the teams placed at the arrival points and also for coordinating with the various departments. He also requested the Railway and Airport Authority Dimapur for establishing the reception desks and DPRO Dimapur for announcements.
