DC Chümoukedima revokes ‘undertaking’ to ply on NH-29 road stretch
DIMAPUR— Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, has revoked the “signing of the undertaking” for vehicles and commuters plying on the “Pagala Pahar” stretch of Dimapur-Kohima on NH-29, with immediate effect
The DC in a notification stated that the “signing of the undertaking” was revoked after taking into consideration the problems faced by the general public, especially in executing the undertaking to travel through the Pagala Pahar stretch.
The notification, however, stated that the authorities are still implementing safety measures and the opening of the stretch is subject to precaution and restrictions.
- The stretch between Chathe bridge and Jharnapani is open for travel, however, travelling on the stretch during the night time should be avoided at all cost.
- The road may be closed during the execution of any safety measure undertaken by authorities. The commuters are requested to cooperate with authorities.
- The volume of traffic passing the stretch shall be regulated as and when required by traffic police personnel.
- The road may be closed completely during heavy downpour of rainfall and will be re-opened once the rain stops.
“Since the exercise of risk mitigation on the stretch has not been concluded by the concerned authorities and due to monsoon season, travelling on the said stretch is not risk-free. The travellers are strongly advised to plan their travel in accordance with the advisory and may consider taking alternate routes,” read the notification.
