DC Chümoukedima notifies on road closure along NH-29

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, in an order, informed that the segment of National Highway 29 between Dimapur and Kohima on the 4-lane road (PKG-I), from Ch. 123.840 (Chathe River Bridge/Patkai Junction) to Ch. 129 (Khuokhi River Bridge), shall be closed to all traffic - both light and heavy vehicles - from April 22 to May 11.

This is in view of the restoration work for removal of overhanging rocks and implementation of safety measures before the monsoon season.

To minimise public inconvenience and undertake safety related works, the road shall be closed for three hours from 4 am to 7 am.  During the road closure time, all traffic shall be diverted from 7th Mile Jn – Pimla – Mhainamtsi – Jharnapani and vice versa.

Commuters have been advised to plan their journey accordingly to avoid the inconvenience, the order stated.
