DBHSS wins U-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament
Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) emerged the champions of the U-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament organised by Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) at Wokha local ground on Friday, March 13.
WDCA in an update stated that DBHSS after winning the toss decided to bat first and were bowled out for 144 runs in 27.3 overs, against Regimental School Wokha.
Mhabemo scored 22 runs with Jandemo and Eyilo scoring 14 and 16 runs respectively. For Renben Kithan, Orenvungo, Renbomo and Oponthung claimed two wickets each for Regimental School.
In reply, Regimental School were bundled out for just 110 runs in 19.4 overs. Elithung scored 15 runs while Oponthung and Bichamo scored 18 and 12 runs respectively. For DBHSS, Jandemo claimed three wickets while Phyoben, Eyilo, and Biben took two wickets apiece.
Micheal Murry of DBHSS was awarded the best fielder of the tournament while Renben Kithan of Regimental School was awarded the player of the tournament. The champions were given a running trophy, certificates and cricketing gears while the runners-up were given certificates and cricketing gears.
Father Manuel, Principal, DBHSS was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony and gave away the prizes.
Altogether seven teams participated in the tournament and 33 players were selected for trials and coaching camp of Wokha District U-16 team.
