Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The literary Club of Don Bosco Kohima (DBCK), organised an invited talk on July 20 with Dr. Easterine Kire as the guest speaker with the participation of 88 students and four professors from the department of English.

The programme was chaired by Ms Vimenuo Lhough, while Keneipounou Rutsa and Keneigulie read the word of God and prayed for the gathering respectively. The welcome address was delivered Dr. Toshimela, assistant professor of DBCK. The guest speaker was felicitated by Fr. Dr. Suresh Sdb, Principal of DBCK, with the college memento and a bouquet.
In her address, Dr. Easterine Kire said, “We have so much oral narratives but with oral dying out, it's all going to be lost.” She stressed on the importance of the oral tradition, taboos and native metaphors.
The students interacted and raised queries with the speaker. The vote of thanks was proposed by Pelhoulneinou Kiewhuo. The programme concluded with the singing of College anthem followed by an exhibition of Easterine Kire’s books which were put on for sale.
