DBC Kohima wins inter-college basketball tournament

KOHIMA — Don Bosco College (DBC), Kohima, won the second edition of a two-day inter-college basketball tournament by defeating Oriental College in the final match on Wednesday.

The semifinal matches were played among Japfü Christian College, St. Joseph’s College, Don Bosco College and Oriental College.

In the closing ceremony, special invitee Kethosituo Sekhose, director of Youth Resources and Sports, said that sports have been an important part of life. He challenged the students to take up sports saying it has many beneficial factors in terms of career, income and stardom.

He further congratulated all the participating teams for displaying brilliant games with teamwork and sportsmanship spirit.

Awards were given away to champions and runners-up. Kevisotuo Pienyü was adjudged “The most valuable player” for his outstanding performance during the tournament.
