Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): The Don Bosco Alumni Association (DBAA), Wokha unit under the theme “Mission Humanity,” on Wednesday, donated essential commodities and cash towards Covid-19 quarantine centres and frontline workers.

The initiative was part of the association’s commitment towards tackling the novel coronavirus and to acknowledge the selfless service rendered by frontline workers, district administration, police, Health department, and NGOs in combating the prevailing pandemic, and also to show their compassion to the returnees, stated an update from DIPR.

The DBAA donated essential commodities such as pork, fruits, potatoes, milk, tea leaves, and snacks for the returnees staying at the quarantine centres. It also donated cash amount of INE 30,000 each for Bhandari and Sanis quarantine centres, INR 20,000 for healthcare workers, INR 20, 000 each for police personnel and SDRF (Home Guards), and INR 5000 for caretakers Covid-19 kitchen. The cash amount was handed over to the deputy commissioner, SP and chief medical officer, the association informed an update.

Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha, expressed gratitude to the association for their generous contribution extended towards the frontline workers during such time of crisis.
